Edema is the accumulation of fluid in the tissues. 

There are many conditions that can cause and influence lower extremity edema, for example:

• Operations of any kind

• Chronic venous disease

• Lymphedema

• Systemic disease such as

  • Chronic heart failure

  • Pulmonary hypertension

  • Renal failure

  • Trauma
